$20M Equity Raise to Accelerate AI Innovation and Global Electrification

When Adam and I started OpenSolar in 2017, we had one goal - to empower every solar professional on the planet to grow their business and speed up the world’s transition to clean energy.

We’ve recently completed a $20 million equity raise from leading technology investors including Titanium Ventures, Google, and 2150 Sustainability Fund, among others, who share our belief that clean-energy progress comes from empowering the people who deliver it.

Adam and I, and many of the OpenSolar team have spent years in solar, so we saw it all first-hand. Solar Pros wrestling with expensive, limited tools that made life harder (and more expensive!) than it needed to be. We knew something had to change...What if we could give every installer, anywhere, access to premium solar software? 

That was the seed of OpenSolar. Today, we offer exactly that, a world-class, end-to-end solar solar operating system, available to installers everywhere, for free.

We’ve just launched OpenSolar 3.0, our most powerful innovation yet,  introducing AI technology that automates major parts of a Solar Pro’s workflow.

We want to automate everything that can be digitised and automated, so installers can sell and install more solar - the fun stuff!

It’s about supporting every Solar Pro out there working hard to grow their business, serve their customers, and take control of their own destiny.

Since OpenSolar launched, our community of professionals has created over six million solar designs, representing more than $10 billion in solar sales.

With this new investment, we’re continuing to advance AI innovation and expand global access, so whether you’re designing in Devon or Delhi, installing in Perth or Portland, you’ll have the same cutting-edge OpenSolar technology in your hands.

The energy transition is scaling and with AI now built into the OpenSolar platform, the next phase of global electrification is already underway.
